Toa Payoh Central National Day Dinner 2026

The Toa Payoh Central National Day Dinner 2026 was held on 15 August 2026 at Jubilee Garden Restaurant, SAFRA Toa Payoh, bringing residents, grassroots leaders, community partners, volunteers and guests together for an evening of celebration, appreciation and community spirit. Hosted by Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan, the dinner was organised by the People's Association – Toa Payoh Central Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC), with the support of the Toa Payoh Central Grassroots Organisations and Toa Payoh Central Constituency Office.

The celebration is an important part of Toa Payoh Central’s community calendar as Singapore marks its 61st National Day. More than simply a dinner, the event provides an opportunity for residents and the wider community to come together as one, celebrate Singapore’s journey, appreciate the contributions of community members and strengthen bonds among neighbours. With performances, community activities, National Day traditions and moments of appreciation throughout the evening, Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan helped keep the celebration warm, engaging and festive for everyone in attendance.

The event also reflected the important role played by the Toa Payoh Central Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC) in supporting and connecting the local community. The CCC works alongside the grassroots organisations and community partners to help bring residents together, encourage community participation and support initiatives that make the neighbourhood more connected and inclusive. The evening highlighted this community-building role through activities such as the Community Volunteer initiative, the PA Community App and Neighbourhood Kakis, which encourages seniors to take an active role in shaping and contributing to their community. Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan also shared these initiatives with guests during the programme.

The evening began with performances by children from the Toa Payoh Central CC Indian Activity Executive Committee and students from PCF School, followed by the National Anthem and National Pledge. These opening moments set the tone for a meaningful National Day celebration, bringing together Singaporeans of different generations while giving young performers an opportunity to be part of the community festivities. Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan guided the audience through the opening programme and welcomed the performers onto the stage.

A key guest for the evening was Mr Cai Yinzhou, Adviser to Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC Grassroots Organisations, who delivered an address during the dinner. The dinner was also led by Mr Lee Su Peng, PPA(P), PBM, Chairman of the Toa Payoh Central Citizens’ Consultative Committee, while Mr Benny Pua, PBM, Organising Chairman played a key role in bringing the event together. Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan acknowledged the leaders and organisers throughout the evening. The National Day Dinner was also an occasion to recognise individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the community. Two National Day Award recipients were honoured: Mr Lim Choon Meng, Kenneth, PBM, a dedicated Grassroots Leader in Toa Payoh Central since 2013, and Mr Tan Nee Ho, Ivan, PBM, who has been an active Grassroots Leader in Toa Payoh Central since 2011. Their recognition reflected the spirit of service and commitment that continues to strengthen the Toa Payoh Central community. Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan introduced the award presentation and invited guests to celebrate their achievements.

The programme featured a diverse line-up of performances that brought together students, community groups and professional performers. Kheng Cheng School presented dance and Wushu performances, while Raffles Girls’ School showcased Samrah Malay Dance and Semi-Classical Dance. Beatty Secondary School entertained guests with a choir performance, followed by an adult Bollywood dance performance from the Toa Payoh Central CC Indian Activity Executive Committee. The Dance Academy also brought three energetic crews to the stage, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the celebration. Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan connected each segment and kept the audience engaged as the evening moved from one performance to the next.Adding to the festive atmosphere were interactive activities and lucky draw segments, giving guests more opportunities to participate and enjoy the evening. The event also included a special table draw, allowing the celebration to remain lively while guests enjoyed dinner and the performances. Emcee Singapore Emcee Ivan led the audience through the games, interactions and lucky draw moments, creating a friendly and energetic atmosphere for residents and guests.

The celebration concluded with a live band performance by Jubox, led by Jurine Chia, followed by a National Day sing-along involving Mr Cai Yinzhou, Adviser to Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC Grassroots Organisations, and the organising committee.
