The Internship Conferment Night 2026: Great Eastern Singapore Celebrates Future Leaders
On 9th July 2026, Great Eastern Singapore – the nation’s oldest and most trusted life insurance group – hosted its much‑anticipated Internship Conferment Night at Paradox Merchant’s Ballroom A and B. With 120 guests in attendance, the evening was more than a formal dinner; it was a heartfelt tribute to the young talents who had spent months learning the ropes of the financial services industry. As the emcee Singapore, Ivan, took the stage with his signature warmth and energy, he immediately set the tone for a night that would blend celebration, recognition, and genuine connection – all under the roof of a company that has been safeguarding Singaporeans since 1908.
Great Eastern Singapore, which manages over S$122 billion in assets and serves more than 16 million policyholders across the region, is far more than an insurer. The company offers a comprehensive suite of life, health, and general insurance, alongside wealth management and Islamic insurance solutions, and it proudly serves as the sole provider for Singapore’s government‑sponsored Dependants’ Protection Scheme. This event was designed to honour the very interns who have contributed fresh ideas and digital‑savvy perspectives to the organisation’s ongoing mission of “Reaching for Great”. During the opening address at 7.30pm, a senior Vice President from the leadership team took the podium, commending the interns for their resilience and creativity – and it was the emcee Singapore, Ivan, who gracefully guided the audience through every transition, ensuring that the gravity of the moment was felt by everyone in the room.
As the buffet dinner commenced at 7.35pm with a “ladies first” protocol, Ivan kept the atmosphere lively and inclusive, reminding guests to savour both the meal and the networking opportunities that followed. The evening then pivoted to interactive engagement games, where teams competed in a human treasure hunt and a photo‑based challenge – all expertly facilitated by the emcee, who turned friendly competition into roaring laughter and spontaneous cheers. Shortly after a highlight video recapped the interns’ most memorable projects, the spotlight shifted to the award presentation. Once again, the Vice President returned to the stage, assisted by the emcee, Ivan, to hand out prizes to eight outstanding teams – five of which received both a cheque and a certificate, while three others took home well‑deserved certificates of achievement.
Beyond the accolades, the night was designed to forge lasting professional bonds. At 9.30pm, a dedicated networking session allowed interns to mingle with department heads, mentors, and executive leaders – a rare opportunity that Ivan, as the emcee, encouraged everyone to seize with enthusiasm. By 10pm, as the event drew to a close, the emcee offered a final toast to the interns’ futures, reminding them that Great Eastern Singapore remains committed to nurturing home‑grown talent. This Conferment Night was not merely a ceremonial closure; it was a vivid statement that the company values its people as much as its products, and that the next generation of industry leaders will always have a place at its table.
