BFSI Innovation & Technology Summit Singapore 2026 Brings BFSI Technology Leaders Together in Singapore
The BFSI Innovation & Technology Summit Singapore 2026 was held on 13th August 2026 at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, bringing together more than 100 senior technology leaders from Singapore’s banking, financial services and insurance sectors. The 38th edition of the global summit series welcomed CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, CDOs and senior leaders in IT, cybersecurity and digital transformation, creating a focused environment for meaningful conversations around the future of financial services technology. Guiding the audience throughout the event, Emcee Ivan, Emcee Singapore, helped create an engaging and professional atmosphere while connecting the different sessions and speakers across the day.
The summit focused on how Singapore’s BFSI sector is adapting to rapid technological change, with discussions covering artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, digital identity, payments, financial inclusion and the modernisation of core banking systems. The opening panel, “Banking Beyond Boundaries – The Future of Digital, Data & Open Finance,” featured Shyam S Rai, Senior Vice President, Platform Engineering, DBS Bank Singapore, as moderator, alongside Stanley Tsang, Distinguished Engineer & Senior Director, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore; Jiawei Cho, Executive Director, Head of Client Lifecycle Management Solutions, OCBC Bank (Bank of Singapore); and Quy Doan, Head of Digital Transformation and Innovation Asia Pacific, BNP Paribas. Emcee Ivan introduced the distinguished panel and set the stage for discussions around the evolving digital and data landscape in financial services.The keynote sessions continued to explore some of the most pressing technology priorities for the BFSI industry. Dr. Shidan Murphy, APAC Presales Lead – BFSI, Siemens, presented on next-generation fraud detection and the move beyond traditional rules-based approaches, while Mckenzie Mathieson, APAC Manager, Airia, addressed the growing challenge of AI sprawl and how organisations can scale artificial intelligence while maintaining control. Later sessions featured Ryota “Rio” Ouchi, Principal Account Manager, APAC, think-cell Software, speaking on data visualisation and storytelling, and Ewout Dhont, Team Lead, Solution Engineering, Guardsquare, discussing how financial organisations can secure mobile applications and the APIs they interact with. Emcee Ivan kept the programme flowing smoothly between these technology-focused sessions and networking opportunities.
A major part of the summit was dedicated to digital transformation across the wider financial ecosystem. The panel on “Digital Identity, Payments & Financial Inclusion” was moderated by Ashish Taneja, Senior Vice President, Citi Bank, with Anshul Johri, Group CTO, Validus Group, and Ee Khoon Oon, VP & Managing Director, Jumio, contributing their perspectives. The discussion highlighted the importance of technology in creating more connected, accessible and secure financial experiences. The conversation then moved to the transformation of traditional banking infrastructure through the panel “Modernizing Core Banking – From Legacy to Cloud-Native Platforms.” The session was moderated by Srividya Subramanian Vidyasagar, Global Head, Cloud and Production Engineering, WRB Tech, Standard Chartered, with Kitman Cheung, Chief Technology Officer, IBM ASEAN; Bala Kishore, Head of Information Technology, India International Insurance Singapore; and Kian Chuen Lee, Head of Information Security, Webull Securities joining the discussion. Their expertise brought together perspectives on cloud, cybersecurity, AI, infrastructure and the need for financial institutions to modernise mission-critical systems while maintaining resilience and security. The event concluded with a keynote on “Embedded Finance and Superapps – The Next Wave of Customer Engagement,” featuring Brijesh Pandya, Director – Artificial Intelligence, Keppel Ltd. The session examined how embedded finance is changing customer experiences through digital ecosystems, while also considering areas such as API-driven integration, data interoperability, customer identity, cybersecurity, compliance and the importance of maintaining trust. Emcee Ivan brought the programme towards its closing remarks after a day of conversations focused on how BFSI organisations can build more secure, intelligent and future-ready technology environments.
