Emcee - The Emcee welcomed alumni, faculty, and guests to the LKCMedicine Alumni in Action event, an evening that brought together graduates from various cohorts to reconnect, celebrate achievements, and strengthen the bonds within the medical community. The event began with dinner and networking, creating a warm and lively atmosphere as old friends and colleagues caught up over food and conversation. The Emcee set the tone with enthusiasm and professionalism, inviting guests to take their seats and ensuring the evening started on a positive note.
The Emcee introduced Dr Ian Koh, President of the LKCMedicine Alumni Executive Committee, who delivered the welcome address. Dr Koh expressed appreciation to all alumni for their continued contributions to the medical field and to the LKCMedicine community. The Emcee then invited everyone for a group photo session, capturing the spirit of camaraderie and togetherness that defined the evening. Laughter and cheer filled the room as alumni gathered on stage alongside Dr Serene Ng, Chief Operating Officer, and the Alumni Executive Committee, marking a memorable start to the programme.
Following the photo session, the Emcee introduced the first speaker, Professor Shawn Vasoo, Executive Director of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). His talk was both insightful and inspiring, covering key developments in the field of infectious diseases and his experiences as a clinician and leader. After thanking Professor Vasoo for his sharing, the Emcee facilitated a brief interaction segment before inviting him to take his leave for another engagement. The Emcee then welcomed the second speaker, Professor Tham Kum Ying, Assistant Dean of LKCMedicine, whose presentation resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting the school’s growth, educational milestones, and the values that continue to guide the next generation of doctors.
The Emcee later introduced Richard from the LKCMedicine Medical Society (MedSoc), who presented an overview of their Overseas Community Involvement Projects (OCIP). His presentation showcased how students are making meaningful contributions to underprivileged communities abroad. The Emcee then led a Q&A session, encouraging engagement and dialogue between the audience and speakers. Questions flowed freely, reflecting the participants’ enthusiasm and professional curiosity, while the Emcee maintained an upbeat and engaging tempo throughout.
After the academic and sharing segments, the Emcee transitioned the evening into a lighter and more interactive tone with a Chocolate Appreciation Workshop by Benedict from Anjali Chocolate. Guests learned about the art of chocolate making and participated in hands-on activities, creating a sweet and memorable experience. The Emcee mingled with participants, keeping the energy lively and ensuring everyone enjoyed the final segment of the night.
As the evening drew to a close, the Emcee expressed heartfelt thanks to all alumni and guests for making time to attend the event. With warmth and sincerity, the Emcee encouraged everyone to stay connected with future alumni gatherings and to share their experiences on social media. The night ended with smiles, photos, and a sense of renewed connection, as LKCMedicine Alumni in Action 2025 successfully celebrated not just the shared history of its graduates, but also their continued passion for learning, service, and community.
