Emcee - NTUC Career Experience Day 2026: A Day of Discovery, Connection and Career Growth

On 4th July 2026, the NTUC Centre at One Marina Boulevard came alive with energy and purpose as the Labour Movement opened its doors for Career Experience Day 2026. The event was designed to give participants an insider's look into the heart of Singapore's Labour Movement and discover the diverse career opportunities available within NTUC. The emcee, Ferlyn, set the tone with warmth and enthusiasm, welcoming everyone to the session and sharing that the day was all about hands-on experiences and candid conversations with the HR team and department representatives. The emcee also made it a point to acknowledge the presence of distinguished VIPs in the room, including the Director of HR and the Deputy Director of HR, whose attendance underscored NTUC's commitment to connecting with potential talent.

For more than six decades, NTUC has stood as a vital partner in Singapore's story – championing the interests, dignity and progress of every worker. As Singapore's largest labour movement, NTUC unites 59 trade unions, seven trade associations and 12 social enterprises to create better lives for workers across all sectors. Through initiatives that protect workers at work, transform careers, manage the cost of living, and nurture financial resilience, NTUC works tirelessly towards better wages, welfare and work prospects for everyone. This Career Experience Day was a celebration of that very mission – an opportunity for participants to see firsthand how NTUC walks the ground and responds to the everyday needs of workers. The emcee reinforced this message throughout the day, reminding attendees that NTUC's work cuts across different ages and stages of life, and that every worker truly matters.

The emcee guided participants through a programme packed with meaningful activities, encouraging everyone to make the most of the event which ran all the way till 3:00 PM. Attendees had plenty of time to explore the Career Advisory Clinic, Role Simulation workshops, and Meet and Connect sessions across Levels 7 and 8. The emcee kept the energy high throughout the day, continuously reminding participants to visit both levels and take full advantage of every opportunity available.

One of the key highlights was the Career Advisory Clinic, where participants could speak with e2i career coaches for personalised career advice, resume tips and guidance on their career plans. The emcee encouraged attendees to drop by and tap into this valuable resource, emphasising that the coaches were there to help them navigate their next career move with confidence.

The emcee also invited participants to join the IRO and ITO workshops at Level 8, Room 801, where they could experience short, guided simulations of these impactful job roles. Industrial Relations Officers (IROs) play a crucial role in creating harmonious workplaces by bringing together employers, unions and workers. They resolve workplace issues, negotiate collective agreements, support workers' growth, and strengthen labour-management relationships across a range of industries. In fact, Singapore's current President Halimah Yacob was herself a former NTUC IRO. Industry Training Officers (ITOs), on the other hand, partner with companies and unions to help businesses transform and equip workers with the skills they need for the future. They drive training and transformation at the company or sectoral level, helping workers upgrade in parallel with their companies' transformations. The emcee shared that these workshops offered a unique chance to step into the shoes of these professionals and understand what it's really like to work in these vital functions.

The Meet and Connect session at Level 7, Room 701 was another highlight that the emcee actively promoted throughout the day. This was a fantastic opportunity for participants to network with department representatives, ask questions and learn more about the different teams within NTUC. The emcee also pointed out that attendees could scan the QR codes available to formally express interest in relevant roles, making it easy for those inspired by the day to take the next step in their career journey with NTUC.

Of course, no great event is complete without good food and great company, and Career Experience Day delivered on both fronts. The emcee hyped up participants with the news that refreshments were available across both levels – a live matcha station, mini churros station and hot dog bun live station on Level 8, and a popcorn station with milo on Level 7. The emcee encouraged everyone to enjoy the refreshments during the event and use the breaks to network with HR and department representatives, turning casual conversations into meaningful connections.

As the day drew to a close, the emcee left participants with a simple but powerful reminder: be curious, ask questions and take advantage of every opportunity. With that, the emcee wished everyone an enjoyable and meaningful Career Experience Day, sending them off with fresh insights, new connections and a deeper appreciation for the work that NTUC does to champion workers across Singapore.
