Emcee - Emcee Ferlyn welcomed everyone to the Sport Quest event, which took place on Saturday, 28th March, at the Woodlands Sport Centre. The event was held from 4pm to 8pm and transformed the stadium, swimming pool, and sports hall into a massive community playground. The emcee kept energy levels high throughout the evening, guiding participants through activities like Basketball, Flying Disc, Foam Archery, Inline Skating, and Floorball, while also announcing the much-anticipated lucky draw winners from the main stage.
The emcee highlighted that ActiveSG organized this event to encourage Singaporeans to adopt an active lifestyle by making sports accessible and fun for all ages. As the national sports movement under Sport Singapore, ActiveSG manages sport centres across the country and offers affordable programmes to foster community bonding. The emcee explained that events like Sport Quest are part of ActiveSG’s broader mission to create a healthier nation through play, removing barriers to entry by offering free trials and carnival-style activities. The emcee also noted that ActiveSG provides memberships, subsidies for lower-income families, and organizes year-round leagues and holiday camps to keep everyone moving.
Throughout the event, the emcee directed attention to the VIPs present, including the Advisor to Woodlands Grassroots Organisations and the Chief of ActiveSG, who participated in the activities alongside residents. The emcee announced special appearances at the swimming pool’s sun deck gallery, where guests tried Stand-Up Paddling, Flippa Ball, and Aqua Zumba, while the stadium track featured a 100m Run/Walk and a popcorn, cotton candy, and ice-cream giveaway. The emcee also invited everyone to the sports hall for dance classes like Inside Flow and BollyBeats, as well as laser shooting and table tennis carnival games. With the emcee ensuring a smooth flow between the training pool, competition pool, and sun deck, the evening ended on a high note, leaving the community excited for the next Sport Quest.
