Emcee Singapore - From 23rd to 27th October 2023, the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre played host to the 16th Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2023, Asia's leading platform for discussing critical energy issues impacting the region. Organised by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore (EMA), SIEW 2023 brought together global energy leaders, policymakers, and industry captains under the theme "Energy Transition Towards a Net Zero World" . Over five days, the event served as a catalyst for discussions on pathways to strengthen efforts towards net zero, even as the world navigates a complex energy transition — a scale and significance that required an experienced Emcee to anchor the programme with authority and professionalism.

 

Emcee​ Ivan had the distinguished honour of serving as the official Emcee Singapore for this prestigious five-day international event. As the appointed corporate emcee, he guided delegates through a packed agenda of high-level forums, technical sessions, ministerial dialogues, and exclusive networking opportunities. The role of the emcee at an event of this magnitude extended beyond simple introductions; the emcee ensured programme precision, maintained timing discipline, and upheld the gravitas expected at a global energy summit.

The week commenced with the Singapore-IEA Forum, where Dr Tan See Leng, Singapore's Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, delivered compelling remarks emphasising the urgency of collective action in the energy transition. Following his welcome address, Ms Mary Burce Warlick, Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), delivered her opening remarks, highlighting Southeast Asia’s growing influence in global energy trends. A major announcement emerged during this forum — the IEA revealed plans to establish a Regional Cooperation Centre in Singapore. Throughout this high-level segment, the Emcee ensured smooth transitions, clear speaker cues, and seamless stage management befitting a ministerial platform.

Emcee Singapore Ivan expertly facilitated the flow of the Singapore-IEA Forum, ensuring smooth transitions between speakers and panel sessions. The first session, titled "Opportunities and Challenges for Achieving Net Zero in Southeast Asia," brought together government leaders and energy experts to discuss the vital role that governments play in steering the energy transition and the pivotal challenge of securing financing for a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape . Panellists included H.E. Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, and YB Tuan Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli, Minister of Economy of Malaysia, among other distinguished leaders .

The forum opened with welcome remarks and an opening address featuring Dr Tan See Leng, Francesco La Camera, Director-General of IRENA, and Christophe Inglin, Vice Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) and Managing Director of Energetix. Together, they shed light on the concerns and priorities shaping the region's energy future, emphasising the critical importance of public-private partnerships in accelerating the energy transition .
