When Safety Took Centre Stage: Woh Hup’s WSHE Campaign 2026
Safety may be serious business, but on 29 August 2026, it certainly wasn’t a quiet one.
Singapore Expo Hall 2B came alive as Woh Hup (Private) Limited brought together its people, partners and project teams for its Annual WSHE Campaign 2026 — a day dedicated to celebrating the people behind a strong workplace safety culture.
And at the centre of the action was Emcee Singapore Ivan, who took on the role of keeping thousands of voices, activities and moments moving seamlessly throughout the day.
More Than Just Another Corporate Event
The theme this year was particularly significant: Safety Officers.
These are the people who spend their working days looking out for others — identifying risks, speaking up, reinforcing good practices and making sure safety remains part of everyday behaviour.
So rather than simply talking about safety, Woh Hup created an experience around it.
The morning opened with a safety skit performed by Woh Hup's own Safety Officers, bringing a realistic near-miss scenario involving work at height to the stage.
Then came the quiz.
With Ivan at the helm, the audience was challenged to recall the safety lessons from the skit. What could have been a conventional safety briefing quickly became an interactive moment involving the crowd.
That balance between message and entertainment became one of the defining features of the day.
From Safety Pledge to Safety Champions
One of the day's most meaningful moments came when Woh Hup Chairman, Mr Kim Yong, led everyone in the Safety Pledge.
The management team then signed the pledge board — a visible commitment that safety isn't simply a policy sitting on paper, but a responsibility shared across the organisation.
The company's Stop Card initiative reinforced that message by empowering workers to stop unsafe acts or conditions before they become something more serious.
And then came the recognition.
The Safety Conscious Awards celebrated 21 supervisors and 20 workers from Woh Hup's various project sites, recognising individuals who consistently demonstrate that looking out for one another is part of doing the job well.
Three project teams also received the WSHE Excellence Award (Project) for outstanding collective safety performance.
This year also saw the introduction of the WSHE Excellence Recognition, honouring 10 subcontractor partners whose commitment contributes to a safer working environment.
For Ivan, these award segments were more than simply announcing names and handing out trophies.
They were opportunities to put the spotlight where it belonged — on the people making a difference every day.
And Then, It Was Time to Have Some Fun
Of course, no Woh Hup celebration would be complete without a little entertainment.
The afternoon shifted gears with Talent Time, where three finalists took to the stage to showcase their singing and dancing.
The competition brought out plenty of cheers, with the audience getting a direct say through online voting. Crowd votes accounted for 60% of the final score, while the judging panel contributed the remaining 40%.
With Ivan engaging the crowd throughout the contest, the atmosphere quickly transformed from corporate gathering to full-on celebration.
Beyond the stage, attendees could explore carnival games, take photos at the photo booth, enjoy the booth tour and catch up over tea.
It was a reminder that workplace culture isn't built only through meetings and policies.
Sometimes, it is built through shared laughter, encouragement and moments of connection.
The Host Behind the Momentum
For an event combining safety messaging, performances, quizzes, awards, pledges, entertainment and audience participation, keeping the programme flowing was no small task.
That was where Emcee Singapore Ivan came in.
From welcoming the crowd and introducing the opening performance to facilitating the safety quiz, guiding award presentations and energising the Talent Time segment, Ivan helped create a rhythm that carried the audience from one part of the programme to the next.
A strong corporate emcee does more than read a script.
The real skill lies in knowing when to energise a room, when to let a meaningful moment breathe, when to bring the audience into the action — and when to simply get out of the way and let the people being celebrated take centre stage.
That balance was especially important for an event whose purpose went beyond entertainment.
Work Safe. Home Safe.
At the heart of Woh Hup's WSHE Campaign is a simple message:
Work Safe, Home Safe.
It is a message that extends beyond the construction site. It is about looking out for colleagues, having the confidence to speak up, taking responsibility and making safety a habit rather than an afterthought.
And that made the 2026 campaign more than an annual gathering.
It was a celebration of the people who make safety possible.
A celebration of teams.
A celebration of partners.
A celebration of the individuals who choose to do things the right way, every single day.
And with Emcee Singapore Ivan bringing the programme together from beginning to end, Woh Hup's WSHE Campaign 2026 delivered something that every successful corporate event aims for:
a meaningful message, a memorable experience, and a room full of people who felt part of it.
