Event: One Punggol First Anniversary Celebration 2025

Emcee Singapore - The event commenced with a warm welcome from your Emcee Singapore host, setting a festive tone for a day that celebrated the first anniversary of One Punggol in conjunction with Singapore’s 60th year of independence. Your Emcee Singapore highlighted the array of activities available, from family-friendly zones to cultural showcases, and built anticipation for the morning’s key ceremonies, ensuring the community was engaged from the very start.

The formal segment was graced by the presence of distinguished Guests of Honour, whom your Emcee Singapore had the privilege of welcoming to the stage. We were honoured by the arrival of Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry; Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment & Education; Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State for Transport & National Development; and Ms Yeo Wan Ling, Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC and Vice-Chairman of the North East CDC. Your Emcee Singapore then facilitated a series of heartfelt speeches from these Advisers, who shared their reflections and well-wishes for the Punggol community.

A poignant highlight of the celebration, introduced by your Emcee Singapore, was the Time Capsule Ceremony. This symbolic act saw our Advisers and invited guests penning personal messages and aspirations for the future of Punggol, to be sealed and reopened at a future anniversary. Your Emcee Singapore guided the audience through this meaningful moment, emphasising how it captured the community's shared hopes and commitment for the generations of tomorrow, before the guests proceeded to interact warmly with residents.

The afternoon segment, hosted by your Emcee Singapore, transitioned into a vibrant cultural extravaganza on the Plaza stage. The audience was treated to a diverse lineup of performances, including melodious sets by SIT Vocalist Insight, charming tunes from the Punggol Coast Active Ageing Committee Ukulele Interest Group, and captivating acts from Nam Hwa Opera featuring Chinese opera and the dynamic art of face-changing. Your Emcee Singapore also seamlessly introduced enriching cultural showcases from the Malay and Indian communities, presented by Sri Warisan and groups like Chumma Dance and Veeravel Urumi Melam, creating a beautiful tapestry of Singapore’s multicultural heritage.

The festivities continued into the evening, with your Emcee Singapore keeping the energy high as the event culminated with an electrifying DJ set by SIT Audiowerks. Throughout the day, the community enjoyed various activities, stage performances, and a lucky draw, all of which contributed to a joyous atmosphere. It was a truly memorable day of celebration and community bonding, expertly woven together by your Emcee Singapore, marking a significant milestone for One Punggol.
