Emcee Singapore - The May Day Domestic Employees Celebration 2025, organized by the Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE), was a vibrant and heartfelt event held to honor and appreciate domestic workers in Singapore. The emcee of Singapore Ivan warmly welcomed attendees and introduced the distinguished guests, including Guest of Honour Mr. Shawn Huang, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower, alongside prominent figures such as Sister Thanaletchimi, President of NTUC Central Committee, and Sister Cham Hui Fong, Deputy Secretary-General of NTUC. The emcee highlighted the presence of other key VIPs, including Brother Yeo Guat Kwang, Advisor from the Migrant Workers' Segment, and Brother Michael Lim, Director of the same segment, setting the tone for a day of recognition and celebration.

The emcee kickstarted the event with lively performances, including acts by the Golden Angels and cultural showcases by groups like the Deshi Girls and Filipino Performers Remix. A highlight was the prize presentation for the "Let’s Wok Together" cooking competition, where winning pairs of domestic workers and employers were celebrated for their culinary creativity. The emcee kept the energy high as the winners received prizes, including kitchen appliances and vouchers, with Mr. Shawn Huang and NTUC representatives presenting the awards.

A significant segment of the event was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy (SHHKCA) and The Salvation Army (TSA). The emcee explained how these partnerships would provide dialect language classes for migrant domestic workers, enhancing their caregiving skills. Dignitaries such as Mr. Perng Peck Seng of SHHKCA and Colonel Hary Haran of TSA joined the stage for the signing, marking a milestone in supporting the domestic worker community.

The emcee seamlessly transitioned between performances, including a touching rendition of "Home" by Kit Chan and dynamic acts by the Golden Myanmar Sisters and Trio Dance Crew. Attendees also enjoyed a lucky draw with exciting prizes like smartphones and power banks, adding an element of thrill to the festivities. The emcee encouraged participation in the event survey via QR code while ensuring a smooth flow of activities, including bento collection and orderly exits.

As the event drew to a close, the emcee expressed gratitude to all partners, performers, and attendees for making the day memorable.
