Emcee Singapore - The Shaping Hearts 2025 roving site event, held on 21 June 2025 at Bayfront MRT Station and Gardens by the Bay (GBTB), was a vibrant celebration of inclusivity and artistic talent. Emcee of Singapore Ivan warmly welcomed attendees, setting the tone for a day dedicated to showcasing the creativity and resilience of artists with disabilities. The event, organized by North East CDC, marked the seventh edition of the Shaping Hearts festival, which has become a cornerstone for promoting inclusive arts since 2019. Emcee of Singapore Ivan highlighted the festival’s theme, "Garden City Perspectives," in honor of SG60, and emphasized the collaboration with Gardens by the Bay and SMRT to transform the venues into living galleries.
The emcee introduced the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Baey Yam Keng, Mayor of North East District and Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Transport, who arrived alongside distinguished VIPs, including Mr. Lam Sheau Kai, President of SMRT Trains, and Mr. Felix Loh, CEO of Gardens by the Bay. Emcee of Singapore Ivan guided the audience through the day’s activities, beginning with live painting demonstrations by talented artists such as Eera Nasriah Binte Najmi (Artzillions) and Zhang Kaini (Mouth and Foot Painting Artists), whose inspiring stories captivated onlookers. The emcee also directed attention to the merchandise booths, where attendees could purchase unique artworks and support the artists directly.
A highlight of the event was the heartfelt musical performance by Chalmers Wong on keyboard and his mother, Magdalene Ong, on vocals. Emcee of Singapore Ivan shared Chalmers’ remarkable journey as a multi-talented artist diagnosed with autism, and the duo’s rendition of the National Day song "Home" moved the audience. The emcee then facilitated the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the event’s partners, with Mayor Baey recognizing the contributions of SMRT and Gardens by the Bay. The emcee ensured smooth transitions as the VIPs and attendees explored the exhibitions, interacting with artists like Rayden Yeow and Lim Zi Liang at Bayfront, and Thaddeus Chew and Cheong Cher Hing at GBTB.
The emcee concluded the event by thanking everyone for their participation and support, encouraging attendees to continue following the Shaping Hearts journey at the main festival in September 2025 at Our Tampines Hub. Emcee of Singapore Ivan’s engaging narration and seamless coordination underscored the festival’s mission to celebrate diversity, turning challenges into creative triumphs. The day was a testament to the power of art to unite and inspire, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
