Date - 19th June 2025

Venue - NUHS Tower Block

Emcee Singapore - On 19 June 2025, the NUHS Tower Block Foyer came alive with creativity and team spirit as staff gathered for Day 1 of the "Our People, Our Pride 2025" celebrations – the Cake Decoration Challenge. The event was hosted with high energy and warm enthusiasm by emcee of Singapore Ivan, who welcomed 44 participating teams and their supporters to kick off the festivities. In conjunction with NUH’s 40th Anniversary, the emcee introduced the challenge guidelines and judging criteria, setting the tone for a friendly and imaginative competition among departments across the hospital.

As the Cake Décor Challenge commenced, the emcee kept the crowd engaged by giving shoutouts to departments and chatting with teams about their cake inspirations and first-time baking experiences. Participants brought their creativity to life with frosting, sprinkles, and teamwork, while supporters cheered them on. When the judges arrived—including Associate Professor Daniel Goh, NUHS Chief Wellbeing Officer; Ms Sarah Ho-Lim, Assistant Director of Nursing; and Ms Sharmaine Poh, Head of Service Ops—the emcee formally introduced them and reminded the crowd of the judging criteria. The judging round was followed by a heartwarming birthday celebration, where the emcee led the singing of the NUH 40th birthday song and invited teams to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

The second day of the celebration, held on 20 June 2025, continued in vibrant fashion with the OPOP International Day, again hosted by emcee of Singapore Ivan. He welcomed everyone back to the NUHS Tower Block Foyer for a festive showcase of NUH’s multicultural diversity. The emcee introduced the crowd to a host of fringe activities, including live food stations, photobooths, and the much-anticipated NUH Heartbeat Musical screening. He kept the energy high as he introduced musical performances by talented staff and invited the crowd to participate in light-hearted stage games.

The highlight of the day, the Multicultural Fashion Runway, saw individuals and groups from various departments strut in ethnic wear, with the emcee guiding the audience through each participant’s background and outfit. Voting was facilitated via QR code, and the emcee encouraged everyone to show their support. The celebration reached its emotional peak with the NUH 40th birthday cake cutting, officiated by CEO Professor Aymeric Lim and senior leaders. The emcee then invited the leadership team to present prizes to winners of both the Cake Décor Challenge and the Fashion Runway, rounding off the celebration with warm applause and continued festivities.
