Emcee - The emcee warmly welcomed attendees to the Hair for Hope Satellite Event, highlighting its significance as a collaborative effort between Heartbeat@Bedok, under the People’s Association, and the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF). The emcee emphasized the event’s purpose—to raise awareness and funds for children and families impacted by childhood cancer—while encouraging pre-registered shavees to sign in and newcomers to explore participation or donations.

The emcee introduced the Guest of Honour, Senior Minister of State (SMS) Mr. Tan Kiat How, who serves as the Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, as well as the Grassroots Adviser to Kampong Chai Chee GROs. SMS Tan delivered inspiring opening remarks, applauding the community’s solidarity. The emcee then facilitated the presentation of a ‘Certificate of Participation’ from CCF to SMS Tan, acknowledging Heartbeat@Bedok’s support for the cause.

A ceremonial head-shaving session followed, with the emcee inviting SMS Tan and shavees to the stage to symbolically kick off the campaign. The emcee captured the moment’s gravity, noting how each shaven head represented empathy for children battling cancer. Post-shave, the emcee orchestrated a group photo with SMS Tan and participants, celebrating their collective commitment.

Throughout the event, the emcee reiterated CCF’s mission and the 2025 Hair for Hope theme, “Together, We Can,” urging attendees to join the main event at VivoCity on 26–27 July or contribute as donors. The emcee also seamlessly integrated lighthearted moments, such as promoting free rock climbing activities at the venue, while keeping the focus on the cause.

Closing the event, the emcee thanked SMS Tan, shavees, and the public for their unwavering support, reminding everyone that their participation brought hope to children with cancer. The emcee’s engaging delivery ensured the message of unity and resilience resonated deeply with the audience.

Together, we stood bald—and together, we made a difference.
